-- it is possible to have the VM group alter the MAC address to match the old server to avoid incurring license costs.
"3. License Information
NetCOBOL has built in license controls.
To obtain a license password, you must know the MAC address of your
system. To obtain your computer's MAC address, execute the
/sbin/ifconfig command on your computer.
If your system has multiple valid MAC addresses, select any one of them. Once you have your MAC address, request your license password by submitting a ti
cket at http://help.gtsoftware.com or send email with your MAC address and Company name to support@gtsoftware.com
Note: Once the license password has been obtained, the registered
license cannot be modified.
You should receive your license password by email within two business
days. Create a directory called NetCOBOL in the /etc/opt directory, and place
your license password file in the NetCOBOL directory:
/etc/opt/NetCOBOL/license.txt
