   ps -ef |egrep httpd ### Note the owner of the process.
   ps -ef |egrep httpd |wc -l

   service httpd status; /bin/systemctl status httpd.service
   -OR-
   chkconfig --list httpd

--Run the YUM update...
   yum update

--Is system/package HTTPD/Apache STILL running?...
   ps -ef |egrep httpd 
   ps -ef |egrep httpd |wc -l

   service httpd status; /bin/systemctl status httpd.service
   -OR-
   chkconfig --list |egrep httpd ### NOTE what levels are on.

--If it is not... 
   /bin/systemctl enable httpd.service
   /bin/systemctl start  httpd.service
   /bin/systemctl status httpd.service
   -OR- 
   service httpd start
   service httpd status

--If it needs to be re-added(which is unlikley)...
   chkconfig --list httpd
   chkconfig --add httpd

--Check if levels are missing, add them...
   chkconfig  --level <level numer>  httpd on

--if a new kernel was installed, make sure it will the one booted to...
   --Check the size of /boot...
   df -h /boot
   --Rewrite grub menu...
   if grub2:  cd /boot; grub2-mkconfig > grub2/grub.cfg
   if grub :  cd /boot/grub; vi menu.lst
   --Rebuild VMTools
      /usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl
